Ashley and I started off the day at the Rainforest Zipline! We were soaking wet but had a lot of fun. We had to take a boat over to Douglas Island, a 4x4 vehicle to the top of hill followed by a short hike up. Ten zip lines, 2 rope, swinging bridges, and a 40 foot free fall rappel later and we were wet but we had fun!
While we were soaring through the rainforest, Dad, Alex and Jane were exploring the city of Juneau. It is about four times the size it was when Dad was here before. In 1969 there were 39 miles of roads and about 7000 people. In 2009 there are about 150 miles of roads and about 30,000 people. We all met up at The Twisted Fish for lunch with Andy and Susan Steele. They gave us a warm welcome to their new home city and showed us the Mendenhall Glacier and out around Auke Bay.
Even with the weather we still went to the Governor's Mansion:
and to the City Museum, State Capitol Building, shopped along Frontier Street and, of course, the Red Dog Saloon!

Your trip looks and sounds amazing. Giving me something to look forward to one day. This is on mine and Shaun's list. Actually it is Shaun's #1, and mine is Hiwaii. But your blog does make it more appealing!
