Glastonbury is full of legends and the remains of a 12th century church and monestary fuel the fantasies. One legend has it that Glastonbury is the site of the death and burial of King Arthur and his lady Queen Guinevere. In fact, "graves" were found in 1191 of thier bodies. Another, older, legend claims that Joseph of Arimathea traveled to Glastonbury with the young Jesus and later returned there to worship. Regardless of the truth of these legends, worship has taken place on this site for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years and the remains of the early church are an interesting place to wander through.
