Perhaps one of the most famous images of ancient Egypt (after the Pyramids) is the Temple of Abu Simbel, built and dedicated to Ramses II. The temple was removed from its original location to protect it when the dam was built at Aswan.

After our morning visit to Abu Simbel we were treated to a felucca ride. It's a traditional boat from the Nile that looks like this:
We took the felucca around Kitchner's Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. It was a nice final night on the Nile.

This relaxing boat ride takes you around Elephantine Island (also known as Kitchener Island) home of the Botanical Gardens of Aswan. From the boat admire the beauty of the Aga Khan Mausoleum built for the spiritual leader of the Ismaili's, a Shiite sect.
