Battle at Bristol

What a day.  What a game.  What a late, late night.

Several years ago we bought tickets for the big game.. UT vs Virginia Tech at Bristol Motor Speedway.  It seemed so far away but suddenly it was here, game day.  Since it was a night game, the kids didn't get to come and Sheena felt she was a little close to her due date so it was just Dad, Ashley, Heather, Sharon, Alex, Jagger & I who loaded up and headed to Bristol decked out in our Tennessee Orange!

Let's get this party started! Arrival at BMS

Jagger may have had the most fun!

We had great seats

Yes, traffic was rough and yes, it was hot, but it was a great night at BMS.  Especially when the Vols finally pulled out the win.

Celebratory Fireworks over BMS after the game as we made our way to the car.
We should have booked rooms years ago when we bought the tickets because they were all taken.  Instead we drove to the closest availability which was in Boone.  We arrived about 4 am for a little nap before heading to North Wilkesboro for the family reunion.  It was a busy night but so much fun!
